Dusty does endurance events to help raise awareness of adrenal disorders, to inspire people, healthy and chronically ill, to treat their bodies with respect, test their boundaries, set goals, to encourage dialogue among the healthy Addison's community and to spread the word that with adjustments to food, medications and sleep, anything is possible!

Dusty has Addison's Disease, a disease of the adrenal glands that when undiagnosed, can cause the following symptoms:

  • fatigue
  • darkening of the skin
  • loss of appetite
  • gradual weight loss
  • nausea
  • salt cravings
  • low blood pressure which leads to light headedness

If properly treated, people with Addison's Disease can live a relatively normal life and, if they chose, an extraordinary life.

Dusty's web site is dedicated to helping Addisonian's find solutions to their problems and to encourage Addisonian's to do their research and be their own advocates.  Her blog, Training because I can! is a mishmash of research, opinion and pictures of Florida and her races wherever they may be.

Below, in pink, you will find the Addison's Support forum.  We're all different with different issues and we all respond differently to EVERYTHING.  Please support people's differences and similarities.  In addition, don't ask for help if you're not interested in working with your doctor to find new solutions to your problems, no martyrs.

The intent of this website is to help the undiagnosed rule in or out adrenal insufficiency by providing information that can be passed on to a physician.  Those who are diagnosed can discuss problems, concerns, accomplishments, ask questions and share information.  Self diagnosis and treatment is not advocated on this website. Proper medical guidance is highly essential.

Adrenal insufficiency is a serious matter that can not be diagnosed or managed without the help of a physician.
